5 Reasons Why You Should Not Ditch Facebook

Don't ditch Facebook

So many of you are tired of Facebook lately. The posting guidelines, censorship, fighting the algorithm, and lack of engagement, I get it!!

I don’t recommend you jump ship just yet. Here me out!!

Competition on social media has grown and even more so since the beginning of the Covid world we live in now. More and more people are taking to social media to drive their businesses. With this growing trend more and more platforms are becoming noticeable and especially since the most controversial election in history.  I am sure you have seen people on Facebook say they are leaving and going to Parler, or some other platform.  I understand their frustration but don’t completely abandon Facebook.

1. Facebook is still the #1 platform to reach people. With over 2.7 billion monthly active users as of the second quarter of 2020, Facebook is the biggest social network worldwide.  Your daily network is probably around 100. That is a lot of people left untouched by your content.  Even if all you do on FB is put out content for your business, it is better than ditching it all together.

2. Many of these new and emerging platforms that have become overnight sensations like Parler  and are going to go through a lot of growing pains, which can be a loss in content seen. If you spend your hours and days fighting with these new platforms that is money lost, because time is money.

3. Facebook has dominated Social media for years, which means they have the technology to give you what you need for your business. Example, Free pages, Live Videos, Amazing analytics. These are features that you won’t find on every platform.

4. Guess what your friends are there. I know how frustrating Facebook can be but let’s be realistic. Not everyone is going to follow you to those other platforms. Not every customer, or friend or family member is going to leave. Facebook has become a lifestyle for many people and one that they are not going to do away with. They don’t do marketing on Facebook, they haven’t seen or understand the struggles marketers have had to endure, so why are you just going to do away with them? You not!! Even if you stay on Facebook just to maintain a connection with these followers it will be worth it.

5. Crisis response, marketplace, jobs, videos, pages, groups, games, and heck you can even send your kids some money through Facebook. We need to accept that Facebook is a one stop shop for many people and these people are protentional clients and customers. Are you really ready to ditch them all and leave them behind?

With all that I do understand the frustration that many marketers are facing on Facebook especially with the Algorithm. I hope these quick tips have helped you decide whether to ditch it completely or not.
