Rise We Shall

Maybe is was the sun beating on my face as I floated endlessly in the pool today, or maybe it was the hug I got from my son. What ever it was something spoke to me in ways that are hard to explain. I felt compelled to put them here.

As a little girl I spent many days, dreaming endlessly. Coming from a dysfunctional family there were many of those days. It seemed to be the only thing sometimes that brought me happiness.  I thought one day my dreams will change the world. One day my dreams and thoughts will be there to guide someone else.

We are living in a society today where humanity is just in an uproar. It is hard to know who to trust of not trust anymore. We don’t know what the future will hold and for most we are at gods mercy, and as it should be.

This post is not about politics though or religion.  It is about finding yourself and rising above all the noise.

We have constant noise in our lives. We walk around with phones in our hands, computers on our laps constantly and wonder why relationships fail, or our world is out of control . We have children growing up in a society that is filled with hate and doubt.  Not like childhoods of the past, is it?

I remember being a teenager and sitting in a dull lit room and listening to music that would move my soul. I remember that feeling of peace with who I was.  I wasn’t competing for likes, or pretending that I was someone I wasn’t just to get a million followers. I was just me, and the world was so very distant. I had that feeling again today and it was so welcomed.

Can we honestly say that we are our truest self, or are we what society and the world has created. I can’t help but wonder what it would be like in the world today if there was never such a thing as cell phones or internet. What would I be doing? Where would society be?

Those dreams I had as a little girl were more than just pretend. They were strong and powerful, and many have stuck with me as I have grown old. I believe that there is so much good in this world that is waiting to be ignited.

We must lead by example! Not just online, on your social media, but in life. Let your neighbors know who you are, be the example in your neighborhood, in your town, at your work.  Where gentlemen are just that, and women are ladies.  I know what your thinking, ya right? I get it, but just imagine how a little bit, or just one person can go such a long way.

Have you ever just floated on the water? All you hear is your breathing. Then your breathing becomes one with the sky and before you know it you forget you are even floating on water. I had one of those childhood daydreams today in the midst of my water meditation. Something spoke to me and said “we will rise again”, ” You just need to be you”.

Powerful, and it sent shivers throughout my body as I climbed out of the pool. So tonight instead of scrolling endless through social media I decided to crank up that music that touched my soul, and write.

We are all destined for something, but what you make of it depends on you. If you want to see good in this world you have do good things. I watched a show tonight Into The Wild, Have you seen it? There is a scene in it and one of my favorite words in the movie. ” When you forgive you love, and when you love gods light shines on you”.
Whether or not your believe in god is irrelevant. If you do good, and love unconditional good things will happen.

If you have read my ramblings this far, thank you! I don’t know if my words can mean anything to anyone, hell sometimes I confuse myself. In the end though, I wonder who else is ready for some good in their life? Who is tired of the same old nonsense day in and day out? Is there anyone out there that thinks like I do?
Rise we shall then, and each new dawn is a new chance to do that good. To sit up straight, to smile at a stranger, and to hold your head high knowing you are doing your best just being you.

I will never stop! If my business crumbles, and I never see the success then I wasn’t meant to have it. But I will always have my words, my thoughts and my dreams, and I will always know that no matter what I was always just being ME!
